  13th World  Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, Warsaw, 21st – 23rd October 2013

ACCREDITATION:

Accreditations for the media representatives working during 13th World  Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will be distributed at the Media Accreditation Point, located in the Palace of Culture and Science, on Plac Defilad 1 (Entrance from the Marszałkowska Street), both on 20th October 2013 between 10 am – 7 pm as well as during the event 21st – 23rd October 2013. (See map nr 1)

During the summit following accreditations will be valid:

1. “MEDIA” – general accreditation with names & bar code, for all accredited journalists
Access to: Press Centre, NGO-Zone, Lower & Upper Deck of Congress Hall, Media Zone in Congress Hall   (Entrance from the upper deck).

2. Pool “MEDIA ALL ACCESS AREA” – for organiser’s broadcasting team only.
Access to: Press Centre, NGO-Zone, Lower & Upper Deck of Congress Hall, Media Zone in Congress Hall (Entrance from the upper deck), VIP-Area, Zero Zone on the ground level and under the main stage.

3. Pool “ZERO ZONE” – only for editorial teams designated by the organiser.
Access to: Press Centre, NGO-Zone, Lower & Upper Deck of Congress Hall, Media Zone in Congress Hall (Entrance from the upper deck), VIP-Area, Zero Zone on the ground level and under the main stage.

PRESS CENTRE, PALACE OF CULTURE AND SCIENCE, 21st – 23rd October 2013

Press Centre during the 13th World  Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates will be open as follows:

  • 20th October 2013 from 2 pm
  • 21st – 22nd October 2013 from 8 am until 7 pm
  • 23rd October 2013 from 8 am until 6pm

Press Centre will consist of conference area and an open-space for journalists to work as well as the Media Information Point and the technical Helpdesk.

  • live broadcasting from the summit’s sessions simultaneous translation: ENG – PL – ENG, RUS – PL – RUS, ES – PL – ES, PORT – PL – PORT, PER – PL – PER
  • press boxes (16 channels): 7 boxes with all language versions plus one additional box with English language version
  • 120 press posts, including 12 posts with laptops (with English software) and 20 posts with broadband Internet access (RJ45 – plug)
  • 2 multifunctional devices (scanner, printer & Xerox machine
  • 5 net printers
  • Internet connection with the capacity 100 Mbps., WiFi standard 802.11g

Name of WiFi internet access (SSID) as well as the password will available at the Media Information Point.

Regulation of terms of using the Internet:

Using the Internet & Wi Fi access happens with sole responsibility of the users. The user is required to secure his/hers computer and to employ provided net access in legally correct manner without disturbing the work of others both devices and users. The organiser does not take the responsibility for potential losses, which may occur in the course of using the internet access – that covers: the loss of data and software’s destruction of the user; disclosure of user’s personal data; shortage in net accessibility followed by the delay in receiving and sending the data, caused by the lack of transmission, bad transmission or the delays & interruptions in providing with service.        

Additionally in Press Centre area, directly in Sienkiewicz Hall, a cloakroom and catering service will be available (coffee service through-out the whole day, lunch from 1 pm until 2 pm).

 

Attention:

For pool “PHOTO”  a separated area PHOTO ZONE will be provided, located in the Main Hall of the Theatre as well as MEDIA ZONE in the audience of the stage hall (Balcony 1). Entrance only with accreditation.

For pool “MEDIA” a separated area MEDIA ZONE will be provided, located in the audience of the stage hall (Balcony 3). Entrance only with accreditation.

For pool “PRESS CONFERENCE” there will be a separated entrance to the building (see map 2). Press Conference Service only with valid accreditation “PRESS CONFERENCE”.

Pools “PHOTO” & “MEDIA” will be lead from the audience (Balcony 1 & 3) directly to press conference.

Dear Sir/Madam,

On behalf of the Lech Wałęsa Institute we have the pleasure of inviting you to a press conference devoted to the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates. During the conference the Summit’s hosts will present the idea behind the event and outline the topics to be discussed during the Warsaw‑based session with Laureates.

The conference will be held on 20 October (Sunday) at 1.30 p.m. in the Press Centre, Marble Hall of the Palace of Culture and Science.

The special guests of the event will be:

  • Lech Wałęsa, President of the Republic of Poland
  • Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw
  • Piotr Gulczyński, President of the Executive Board, Lech Wałęsa Institute.

After the official ceremony opening the Summit, all our guests will be invited to a media reception with lunch hosted by Mazda, the main partner of the three-day Summit in Warsaw. The event will take place in “Trojka” Hall at the Summit’s Press Centre.

World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates

On 21-23 October 2013, Warsaw will be hosting the 13th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates held under the motto “Stand in solidarity for peace – time to act”.

The Summit, first launched in Rome in 2000 by the former USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev, has become a key event promoting democratic values and ideas of freedom and peace. Among the guests who have already confirmed their presence are 14th Dalai Lama, Frederik Willem de Klerk, Betty Williams, Szirin Ebadi, Mohammad Yunus and Lech Wałęsa.
