Bijan Khashabian

Project Director Program Management & Quality Assurance

Mr. Bijan Khashabian has served the Permanent Secretariat as Programme Director for more than 4 years and in this capacity was in charge of Program Management and Quality Assurance of the organization of the last two World Summits.

He maintains a Master’s Degree in Business Management from Goethe-University Frankfurt and an MBA in International Consulting from the University of Pforzheim and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP©).

After many years in senior management positions in different industries he became a founding partner and managing director at a consulting firm based out of Berlin, Germany, in which capacity he has worked on five different continents.

Before engaging as volunteer at the Permanent Secretariat he also engaged as a football referee and in different official roles at the German football association for over 20 years.

Mr. Khashabian, a German & Iranian citizen, was born in Arolsen, Germany but raised in Tehran, Iran, before his family had to leave Iran during the Islamic Revolution, an experience that taught him the consequences of violent political change and lead him to become a pacifist and Peace activist.
