Misión Resistencia

Education and training for young people in human rights

MISIÓN RESISTENCIA

Misión Resistencia consists of education and training on the topics of peacebuilding, peacemaking, and human rights, for youth living in either an indigenous community, an area of conflict, or marginalized area in Mexico. This project is based on the Leading by Example peace education curriculum, created by the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates.

The mission and values of Jornada de Derechos Humanos – with their focus on education and training for young people in human rights, through peace strategies -are in perfect alignment with those of the Permanent Secretariat and its Youth Program, which was established in 2012. The World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates’ Leading By Example Program recognizes the important role that youth play in promoting messages of peace, and provides educational opportunities for young leaders to engage in dialogues about peace and human rights.

The Permanent Secretariat looks forward to a long and productive partnership with Jornada de Derechos Humanos in promoting peace education among the young leaders of Mexico and Latin America.
