The WSNPL at the Peace and Sport Middle East Forum

The Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates joined forces with Peace and Sport to host an exclusive session titled “CHANGING THE WORLD THROUGH SPORT: THE POWER OF YOUTH” during the Middle-East Forum powered by the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee on 18-19 October. This remarkable gathering featured the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, Kailash Satyarthi, Joël Bouzou, President of Peace and Sport, and Champions for Peace, along with a group of young Saudi leaders. The event was made even more impactful as students from the Youth Program of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates participated, posing thought-provoking questions to the distinguished speakers.

During this momentous occasion, Ekaterina Zagladina, the President of the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates, took the stage to address the esteemed guests and participants. Her speech emphasized the importance of uniting for a common cause, the pursuit of global peace.

Ekaterina Zagladina’s Address:

Distinguished guests and participants,

Special thanks and greetings to Mr. Joel Bouzou, the President of Peace and Sport, for inviting us and for this opportunity to unite our endeavors in the work for peace, and to Mr. Kailash Satyarthi for his noble vision and for being here with us today. It is an honor for me to represent the WNPL.

Our organization has been tirelessly working towards the cause of peace for over two decades. We’ve provided a global platform for Nobel laureates to share their unique knowledge and experiences in the pursuit of global peace. By delving into the wisdom and achievements of these Nobel laureates, the Permanent Secretariat also aims to engage the minds of our world’s young people in critical global issues—conflicts, environmental challenges, societal problems, and more. Our goal is to encourage humanitarianism and non-violent thinking among the youth.

As we gaze into the future with unwavering hope, we recognize the pivotal role of young leaders in building a world of love, peace, harmony, and prosperity. Promoting leadership opportunities for peace is a top priority for the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize laureates. We believe that young people are the future architects of a more peaceful world, and it is our mission to empower them to lead global initiatives and address local social challenges.

In our pursuit of peace, let us acknowledge that as nations work together in harmony, we grow stronger. This collaboration lays the foundation for new pathways to peace.

We firmly believe that the ultimate expression of love manifests through positive actions and attitudes of each one of us. Nobel Peace Laureates, through their tireless efforts for peace, have been globally recognized for embodying this highest form of love. We are deeply honored to have Mr. Kailash Satyarthi here with us to share his vision.

We also recognize that the profound values of humanity find expression not only in peace but also through sport, arts, music, and other forms of creative expression. Peace and Sport plays a unique and vital role in our collective pursuit of global peace. It is our shared belief that by standing together, we become stronger in our ultimate objective—to create a civilization of happy, harmonious, and loving human beings.

The collaboration between the Permanent Secretariat of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates and Peace and Sport, along with the inspiring insights shared during the session, underscores the significance of unity, youth empowerment, and the power of sport in shaping a world that champions peace, harmony, and love. This extraordinary event serves as a reminder that we are all stronger together in our quest for a more peaceful and compassionate world.
